Meeting Minutes
April 6, 2005
Andy started the business meeting.
1. Bruce distributed a sheet announcing a picnic with both the ATMoB and SSAS. This meeting will take place in Westford at the ATMoB observing site at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 11. Please click on this event on the upcoming events page on the web site.
2. Tenney talked about the passing of long time member Dave Congalton. Tenney will be writing a memorial page to be placed on the society’s web site.
3. Andy gave a brief synopsis of the April 2nd Board meeting. Please see the board meeting minutes for details
4. Andy announced that the newsletter, “What’s Up” will just be available on line.
5. The alternate viewing site at Norwell Middle School was discusses. It seems that this site is comparable to Centennial Field with out the lugging of equipment. Other members who have used this site agreed. Andy is in the process of getting approval from the school department. We have also been asked to let the police know when we are observing there. The phone number will be published on the member’s only page.
6. The annual picnic will take place on July 30th at Louis Gentile’s house. More information will be mailed to the membership.

Following the Business meeting, Bill started the discussion on colminating a telescope. Bill had a small reflector set up with a laser attached to the eye piece. Many members discussed the methods they used on their telescopes. Next Louis set up his Truss Dobsonian telescope to illustrate the procedure he uses to colminate his scope.
