DVD of Bridgewater State College Physics professor Martina Arndt’s presentation at PCIS about her (and others) research of Solar Eclipses

 

OLD BUSINESS

1.             Astronomy Day – Louis, there will be food until 7 pm, Rolf’s meteorites are questionable, planetarium and other indoor displays, solar telescopes, Mal’s LED constellations

 

2.             Mal – Astro League, Quick links, Global Project, star charts – game for Leo to identify how dark it is – how many stars can you see – 100 copies of any; Bill will make copies

 

3.             Scituate Rotary Club Wednesday March 28 – Paul, Bill, Mal, Louis beautiful windy and cold

 

4.             Visit to SkyScrapers – May 26th at Scituate, RI waiting to hear response (Skyscrapers has their 75th anniversary celebration - ideas for 2008 anniversary for SSAS)

 

5.             Bulletin Board – Paul – due to problems with unwanted downloads (REALLY unwanted stuff) the Bulletin Board is no longer active

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

1.             Family Activity Packet to identify sky brightness using the stars in Leo – Mal (Bill will make 100 copies for Astronomy Day)

2.             Summer Board Meeting – Louis agrees to host Summer cook out/board meeting sometime in July or August

3.             Mal shared a sample of optical fiber

4.             Chip shared information about verizon’s problems of installing fiber optics in some of MA communities

5.             Joe Marques donated books for members to take
