The minutes from the executive board meeting on July 31 were handed out and discussed.

We discussed ways to attract new members and ways to keep current members interested in returning.
Bob will look into the possibility of getting the Town of Norwell to publish about our club in the town newsletter.
We began to plan a program for anyone who is new to astronomy. This program would have a presentation, a discussion, and hopefully observing if the weather cooperates. We would make brochures about our club to give out to all whom attend. We also discussed the possibility of holding a program before the December Holiday Season about how to buy a telescope.
Monday, August 16, from 8-10 p.m., we are holding a workshop for teachers at Bridgewater State College. Volunteers are needed to bring telescopes so that the teachers can see different types of scopes and look through them.
Andy is trying to contact television networks to see if they would publicize our club.
Bill volunteered to head a committee for programs for each monthly meeting and quarterly workshops. He will be looking for guest speakers and already started to schedule programs for the upcoming months.
Andy is going to look into the possibility of restarting the club newsletter either seasonally, quarterly, or monthly.
We discussed the possibility of holding star parties for schools or other places in order to let others know about our club and help teach the community about astronomy.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
