Meeting Minutes

December 2004

There seemed to be something in the air, as I walked into the hall, downstairs, at the council on ageing.  Maybe it was Rosemary Connor (The woman who runs the council on ageing), who was there, saying hello, or the assorted Holiday knickknacks, for sale, lining tables at the back of the room.  There was also the fresh smell of coffee brewing; either way, the Holiday spirit is upon us.

Andy started out the evening with his "Astronomical Potpourri;" a plethora of information, from large telescopes to freeware software.  It was nice to see the members jumping in to help contribute to the information and discussions about some of the material.  After Andy's presentation, Louis took over charge of the meeting and started out with any old news.  The club assets was brought up again and it was decided to call in all our property and Louis, our V.P. was nice enough to let us use his place to store the stuff.  We decided to keep our file cabinet, which is permanently kept at the council on ageing.  Speaking of which, all new members should check the cabinet, for their membership package.

Bill Luzader reminded everyone that our next meeting will be held at the Planetarium, at the Plymouth Community Intermediate School.  He said to bring a red light and a Planisphere.  Should be fun and educational, as all of Bill's lectures are.

Paul Grueter motioned that we schedule a board meeting for January and it was decided to hold it at 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 8th, with a viewing after; weather permitting and pending permission, from Rosemary; which I am pleased to say, we have.  Oh yeah, before I forget,

Dinner will be served at the board meeting, board members need only bring their preference for refreshments.  Lastly and not necessarily in order, Skip Newell asked for the Secretary or in this case the acting Secretary to make a single  motion for the election of board members. After a unanimous show of hands, all individuals nominated for positions, were elected. Once again the lucky or maybe unlucky individuals are: Richard (Andy) Anderson-President, Louis Gentile-Vice President, Chuck McCarthy-Treasurer, Paul Grueter-Secretary/Webmaster, Bill Luzader-Director, Rolf Egon-Director and last but not least, Tenney Doble-Director (our former President).

At this point some people were starting to leave and others to break into small groups to chew the fat, so the meeting was called to close.  Already looking forward to January's meeting, in those nice plush, movie theater type chairs, at the planetarium. Hope to see everyone there.

Until then KEEP LOOKING UP!
