1.      Elections – slate elected by proclamation

2.   STEP & Plymouth Planetarium

 

3.   Astronomy Day on Saturday April 21, 2007 at the First Parish Unitarian Church in Norwell is approved by club and will be placed before the church council by minister. It is suggested that the club consider some a notable guest speaker.

 

4.   Another suggestion is to compile addresses of all the groups for which the club has done observing parties and send them “Thank You’s and notification of club events.

 

5.   Board of Directors meeting Jan 20 at 2 pm at the Council on Aging

 

6.   Dues are due and there is a concern of a decreasing membership might affect the discount on Sky and Telescope and Astronomy magazine. Suggestions about increasing membership: 1) mailing list from Sky and Telescope, 2) make use of announcements on local cable access channels, 3) membership booth at Astronomy Day (discount for first year members), and 4) local organizations may join.

 

7.   Current treasury balance $ 2067.07

1.    Geminids meteors Dec 14 – 16

 

2.   Any evening Shuttle launch, the Shuttle will be visible from the south shore, firing its thrusters low in the eastern sky about 8 minutes after launch
