The meeting on January 7, 2004 was held at the Blake Planetarium in the

Plymouth Community Middle School. Dr. Alan Hirsfield from the Physics department at University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth gave a lecture about his book “Parallax: The Race to Measure the Cosmos”. He discussed the history of how astronomers have tried to measure the distances of space. No business meeting was held after the lecture. The next meeting will be held on February 4, 2004.
