1. Board meeting Saturday January 31, 2009 at 4pm at the Council on Aging

2. Viewing with telescopes at Centennial Park on Pine Street on Saturdays January 24 & 31

3. Viewing session February 27, 2007 from 7 to 9 pm at Wompatuck State Park

4. Weymouth High School is starting an astronomy club that meets Tuesdays after school (2:30-3:30 pm). Steve LaFlemme, Mal MacDonald and Paul Grueter volunteered to go a speak at the club and plan future activities

5. Astronomy Day – Saturday May 2, 2009

OPEN TOPICS

1. Plans for a Messier marathon.

2. 5^th Anniversary of Mars Rovers

3. Special on Mars Rovers and Hubble Space Telescope on the National Geographic Channel

4. Discussed the Orion 8 and 10 inch Orion Dobsonian telescopes

5. January 10 Full Moon and Perigee (close perigee – biggest Moon for the year)

Steve LaFlemme will present new images from his home observatory at February meeting
