1.   The meeting opened with the announcement by Pres. Doble that the annual “Star-B-Q” will take place at Tenney’s on Sat. July 26, with a rain date of July 27.  The festivities will begin between 3 and 4 in the afternoon and will end with a view session in Tenney’s back yard.  All members will receive an email with details.  Please respond by email to Tenney by July 15th.

2.   On August 11th the Society will participate in a program at the Plymouth Public Library.  Skip Newell will be heading up this activity.  More information will be available at the August meeting.

3.   Paul Grueter briefly talked about the STEP Foundation and up coming activities.  More info will be coming from Bill Luzader.  Bill will be observing at the Plymouth Waterfront on Wed evenings when there is a concert.  Feel free join Bill on any Wed.

4.   “Mars Watch” will take place each Saturday, weather permitting, from Aug. 9th through Sept 13th.  Telescopes will be set up at Centennial Field for public viewing on these dates.  Mars will be the closest to the earth since 57617 BC.

5.   Finally discussions about the recent “Dark Sky” bill were held.  It appears that the current bill has little support in the state legislature.
