SSAS
July 2005 Monthly Meeting
We were privileged in
July, to have one of our newer members, Neil Fleming, give a phenomenal lecture,
on his abilities, in Astrophotography. I
think a lot of our members and guests were pleasantly surprised at what you can
produce with a little no-how and not necessarily alot
of money.
Thank
you Neil for a fantastic presentation.
We then conducted our
business meeting, covering several topics. First, a reminder to everyone to R.S.V.P. to
Louis as to whether they will be attending the annual club cookout and how many
will be coming. Second, it was decided
that because we advertise on our web page, that we will be at Centennial Field,
twice a month for viewing sessions, that some of us, shouldn't be going to
other sites on those dates. We can go to
other sites on Fridays or Sundays on those assigned weekends. Changes to this protocol may be forth coming,
depending on upcoming discussions about the web page. Lastly, it was brought to our attention that
Paul Grueter may be over worked dealing with the web page and maybe he could
use a break and someone else take over the job. As it turns out, we may have two members who
would take over the job. This subject
will be taken up again, at our next board meeting, before the July cookout.
All we need now is a long
spell of clear dark nights, to give us more viewing nights, than we have had in
the past. All in all, an enjoyable and productive meeting.
