Old Business

1.      Re-schedule trip to Sky Scrapers for sometime in the autumn

Skyscraper’s AstroAssembly Fri & Sat Sep 29 & 30 at Seagrave Observatory in North Scituate RI

3.      Other Old Business

STEP: still no word from superintendent about the new location of the observatory in a spot where no new building projects will interfere; July 4^th Plymouth town parade went well

The 6” Orion Dobsonian will be formally presented to teachers at the Cushing school in the early autumn

4. Treasurer Chuck McCarthy announces that the club treasury balance is $2434.84

5. SSAS Board Meeting and cook out at Louis Gentile house Saturday August 12 – decisions about who is bringing what will be made at the August business meeting.

New Business

Wed Aug 2 at 7:30 pm John’s tape about Cape Kennedy Space Center

August 25 - 27 at Cherry Springs State Park in northern PA, Black Forest Start Party. Registration closes August 4^th. (www.bfsp.org)

Rolf went to an astronomy activity at Camp Adamic in Washington, ME on June 28.

The NH trip for the weekend of June 28 was cancelled due to bad weather.

Member Bill Luzader presented a program about the early days of America’s Space Program and how its vision as portrayed on the “Disneyland” TV (Tomorrowland segments – now available on DVD) shown in the mid to late 1950’s.
