Jeff Lane asks
if anyone is using green laser for pointing at stars for groups – Jeff has
followed the rules about using them – contacting the FAA. Jeff has concerns
about the “official” rules (using green laser pointers within 5 miles of the
end of & 2 miles on the sides of airport runway). Are there specific
government regulations about lasers pointing into the sky and the possible
legal problems involved if an amateur astronomer uses one improperly. Paul will
contact Astronomical League about laser pointers.
