PRESENTATION

Members shared information concerning astrophotography and telescopes

Paul Grueter showed commercial web cam with lens removed and adapter from Orion telescopes which screws into lens hole so web cam can be installed into focuser of telescope eyepiece AND showed the T-ring and adapter from Orion telescopes.

 

OLD BUSINESS

1.             The cub scout astronomy activity atSt. Mary’s Church in Scituate Harbor Friday May 4, Mal MacDonald and Rolf Egon, good crowd of scouts and families; an individual opened and dropped container of Rolf’s lunar meteorite (a rock was located and, as yet, not identified as the meteorite)

 

2.             A small number of club members visited the RI astronomy club, SkyScrapers, for a clear evening of viewing with their many telescopes on May 26th at Scituate, RI

 

3.          July Meeting will be SECOND (July 11) Wednesday in July because of July 4th on Wednesday

 

4.             There has been no further contact with or information about the possible involvement with the Boston Natural Areas network, festival around New Moon in August (11-12) Hutchinson’s field in Milton

 

5.             STEP Foundation will be having a float in the Plymouth July 4 parade – ideas and help will be appreciated. Contact Bill Luzader

 

6.             $2511.72 current balance, Insurance bill $250, no mailings from Astronomical League

 

7.             WELCOME to Mal MacDonald after his brief hospital visit.

1.                  Annual BBQ and Board Meeting afternoon of Saturday July 28 at Louis Gentile’s home in Scituate

3.                  Plymouth Waterfront concerts & Telescopes starting Wednesday June 27 through August 29th, Bill Luzader

4.                  Bridgewater State College Observatory may be open during the summer, Bill Luzader will let members know

5.                  summer space events – Shuttle launch June 8, DAWN craft to asteroids launch on June 30, Phoenix Mars Lander launch August 3, Shuttle launch August 9

6.                  Don Greely and Louis Gentile planning an astronomy trip to Star Hill Inn in New Mexico (first attempt cancelled
