OLD BUSINESS:

1) Report Viewing Program with Air Force, Oct. 9

a) Attending: Skip Newell, Louis Gentile, Bob Sorenson, Chuck McCarthy, Jeff Lane, Bill Luzader, Paul Grueter, Mal MacDonald, Eric Biondi, George Roberts, Lesley ?

b) Weather was CLEAR and a bit windy & cold - ~35 people trickled through

2) Nominations for 2011 Officers (All Positions, Elections to be held at Dec. Meeting. Dec. 1st.

a) President (Paul Grueter), Vice President (Louis Gentile), Secretary (Bill Luzader), Treasurer – Thank you Charles McCarthy (??? we need a new treasurer!)

b) 3 Board Members - Jeff Lane, George Roberts and Don Greeley as new board members

3) Viewing with Whitman Cub Scouts, Dec. Thursday Dec. 9, 6:30 PM at Centennial Park

a) Members indicating they will try to participate. George Roberts, Skip Newell, Paul Grueter,

4) Dues for 2011 year are now being collected.

a) $35.00 per family, Includes membership in the Astronomical League with 4 issues of The Reflector

b) Sky and Tel, $33.00 (Can renew by yourself and still get club rate)

c) Astronomy $34.00

5) Astronomy Day (Saturday May 14, 2011) confirmed with the Scituate Library.

a) If you are interested in giving a talk or running a program, let us know.

NEW BUSINESS:

1) Suggested Viewing Nights, Nov. 6th & 13th

2) Paul received email from amateur observing society of NY grant from NASA & NSF about taking telescopes to public groups. Outreach to the public Paul will get more information. Brief discussion about the value of a video eyepiece compared to an eye-to-eyepiece. – live at the eyepiece wins!
