In November of 1958 a group of Amateur Astronomers, formed the "South Shore Astronomical Society." Today the passion of those founding members still holds true. Our joy is Astronomy with the ultimate goals of knowledge, fun and sharing.

We meet on the first Wednesday of every month and usually schedule viewing sessions twice a month on Saturdays around the new moon (weather permitting). Within our club, we have individuals who have interests in the various aspects of astronomy — astrophotography, solar viewing, meteor, asteroid, comet observations, deep sky, binary stars, etc.  The only prerequisite for membership is an interest in astronomy.

Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM at the

Norwell Council on Aging

293 Pine St.
Norwell, MA
